There are certainly "operational" search dogs that are very talented, very well trained and extremely highly valued by the organisations that use them to find missing people and now pets too. Can my dog, currently laying on the sofa do this though? yes they can. The training is fun, highly motivational and good for all breeds of all abilities. Whilst they can't assist police and rescue services they can enjoy using their noses and new learned skills to find a fellow dog owner hiding in the park. Don't be fooled though. This is more than hide and seek. It is the dog using the scent and environment to guide us to a specific individual under different situations. Very enriching for the dogs and bonding for dog and owner. Book our beginner/foundation sessions to get started on this journey.
